TESTING REQUIREMENTS
The following are the belt ranking requirements for Kata and Kumite under the International Ryu Kyu Kai karate-Do
Association. The ranking and testing requirements are the ones established by Saito Grandmaster. There are six colored belts,
eight including Black Belt, White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and Brown.

10th Kyu - 9th Kyu White to White Bar
9th Kyu - 8th Kyu White Bar to Yellow
8th Kyu - 7th Kyu Yellow to Orange
7th Kyu - 6th Kyu Orange to Green
6th Kyu - 5th Kyu Green to Purple
4th Kyu - 3rd Kyu Purple Bar to Brown 3 Bars
3rd Kyu - 2nd Kyu Brown 3 Bars to Brown 2 Bars
1st Kyu - 1 Dan Brown 1 Bar to Black
1st Dan - 2nd Dan
2nd Dan - 3rd Dan
